The 9th Korean Music Awards will take place on February 29 at AX-KOREA in Seoul. It’s the last music awards ceremony out of 6 ceremonies which will conclude the music awards of 2011.
As each year award ceremony it is reminded of the fairness of the awards being issued which leads to refine the meaning and existence of the award. The 9th Korean Music Awards is centered on music itself as judges are popular music critics, pop music reporters, music radio station PD, and experts.
The award aims to give an award based on the album and songs rather than the popularity of the artist, quality of the music pieces than the amount of album sold.
Nominees for the song of the year are 2NE1, IU, Chang Kiha & The Faces, sing/songwriter Lee Seung Yeol, and electronic band Idiotape.
Awards are given to number 1 of 4 categories in album, song, singer and rookie for each genre of rock, modern rock, pop, dance & electronic, rap & hip-hop, R&B and soul.
Last year miss A won ‘Best Dance & Electronic Song’ award with their hit song ‘Bad Girl Good Girl,’ while 2NE1 won ‘Best Dance & Electronic Album’ with ‘2NE1.’
